Dozens of the movement’s activists came, together with the heads of the Sovereignty Movement, Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar, to stand in support for the judicial reform in front of the meeting of the government in Jerusalem, despite the stormy weather.

Governmental ministers – Orit Struk, Miri Regev, Idit Silman and Mai Golan - came during the vigil to encourage the activists and thank them for the demonstration of support.

Yehudit Katsover, one of the co-chairwomen of the Sovereignty Movement, said: “We came to encourage the government to pass the necessary judicial reforms. Until now, we have voted for the right but got the Left; only with the reform of the judicial system will there be true democracy here. The reform is really necessary for true democracy, the reform is meant to repair the ideological aspects of the State of Israel for settlement, for security. We encourage Minister Levin and MK Rotman to advance the changes fearlessly. The People of Israel will win, nationalist values will win, this is the will of the majority of the People of Israel”.

Minister Orit Struk encouraged the activists by saying: “You deserve respect for coming in the pouring rain to encourage us. We will continue to promote the reform and we will not betray the public that brought us to power.”

Minister Regev thanked the participants saying: “This reform must pass as it is because this is the will of the people. In a democratic state the sovereign is the ruler and not 15 unelected judges. Thank you for the support and encouragement.”

Minister Silman said: “We were elected by the public to bring about a change for all the citizens of Israel and we are extremely committed to do this. We came to change things and we will make the change with love and resolve.”

Minister May Golan thanked the demonstrators thus: “Thanks to the citizens who stood in the pouring rain and Jerusalem’s freezing cold – amazing citizens who left their homes to make their voices heard in favor of the reform that the people has chosen by an absolute majority.”
