Dear friends,
Shalom and Greetings.

These days, violent attacks upon Jews have become “entertainment”. Arabs attack Jews and post it on social media. Ramadan this year is characterized by increasingly violence by Arabs in Jerusalem, Lod, Jaffa and cities other Israeli cities.

The Arab rioters see that there is a lack of control and enforcement of law and the lax justice system frees them under various pretexts without doling out the appropriate punishment, if they are punished at all. The Arab public sees the embarrassing political-governmental state and chooses to arrogantly provoke the state and its authorities.

This is not how sovereignty looks. Our call for the application of sovereignty overe Judea and Samaria should not make us neglect the call and demand for the enforcement of Israeli sovereignty throughout the entire Land.

In this matter as well, the plain simple truth emerges: The enforcing of Israeli sovereignty throughout the entire Land cannot be done by  a government that lacks a common ideological backbone. A Left-Right government or a government dependent on Mansour Abbas’ vote will not be able to create the deterrence or the enforcement of sovereignty that we so desperately need at this time.

We will again repeat our call to the heads and leaders of the Rightwing camp to understand and internalize the magnitude of the hour and find the fastest path to forming a broad and solid right-wing government. The entire right-wing public sees it and wants it; to the voters, the way leading to such a strong coalition is clear. Now, all that remains is for the leaders to also reach the same conclusion and act to implement it.

The vote that exposed the tip of the iceberg

And on the same matter, Mansour Abbas’ vote this week against the Likud’s proposal on the relatively marginal matter of Knesset committees, shows us all just how incapable a government depending on his vote would be, to promote anything on the agenda for which it was elected to advance.

If, in such a simple matter, the Prime Minister found himself embarrassed and defeated because of Abbas’ whim, there is no doubt that in a government that requires his support, any nationalist, right-wing and Jewish proposal would fall. In our opinion, the situation would be even worse, because in order to avoid such embarrassment and losses, such a government would be prevented from raising proposals for nationalist steps for a vote in the first place. In order not to expose just how dependent a government depending on Mansour Abbas’ vote would be, no one will talk about sovereignty, no one will strengthen the settlement enterprise, no on will think about establishing new towns, no one will fight for Israel’s Jewish identity and no one will lift a finger to change the justice system.

This is not what we prayed for when we went to the ballot boxes. The appropriate conclusion is, as we said, to internalize the voter’s word, who desires a right-wing government and the formation of such a government without boycotts or personal grudges. The good of the state and its future are more important than anything.

Neutralize background noise

Following the events of this past week that took place near MK Ze’ev Elkin’s house, we repeat what we have already stated: Neither Elkin, nor Sa’ar nor anyone else from the New Hope party should be slandered or attacked in this way.

Beyond the fact that protests of this sort will not improve the prospects for a joint coalition; these are false and baseless allegations. Elkin, Sa’ar, Lahiani and others are Land of Israel people, imbued with loyalty and love for the Land and are dedicated to it. No one can preach to them. It is important and necessary to call on them to return to a right-wing coalition but it must be done honorably, in a friendly way and especially, in a truthful way in the public sphere.

It is possible and correct to hope and believe that Sa’ar and Elkin will be able to isolate themselves from the violent background noise arising from those marginal protests and to take considerations of the Land of Israel’s and the good of the State of Israel in a clear and genuine way. Therefore, they may also come to the conclusion that it is necessary to form the required union along with the legitimate demands to bolster the Likud on the Right and demand a clear agenda that is in line with the will of the voters.

Preparing for the Youth Convention

Together with the Sovereignty Youth, we are now preparing for the big Sovereignty Youth Convention that will be held, G-d willing, in June.

The youth’s praiseworthy activities get a big boost from these events. Ideas are raised, meetings are held, public figures encourage the youth, the youth get organized, they coordinate activities and set out in a fresh and innovative way.
In the coming days, we will continue to update you on what to expect at the convention and during its preparation.

Shabbat shalom,
Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar
