A new poll released ahead of the Sovereignty Movement conference that was held  Thursday June 4th 2026 in Jerusalem, with the participation of ministers and Knesset members, points to broad support among Israel’s Jewish public for encouraging the voluntary emigration of Gaza Strip residents to other countries. According to the poll, 73% of the Jewish public supports the move, while 22% oppose it, and 5% said they have no opinion on the matter.

In the Sovereignty Movement, the findings are seen as further evidence of the shift that has taken place in Israeli public discourse since the outbreak of the war, alongside calls to advance the application of sovereignty even before the upcoming elections.

A breakdown of the data by voting patterns in the last elections shows especially high support among voters of coalition parties. Support stands at 95% among voters of the Religious Zionism and Otzma Yehudit parties, 91% among Likud voters, and 90% among Shas voters.

The Sovereignty Movement says the figures reflect a clear expectation among right-wing voters to see practical steps taken, not merely declarations.

However, support for the move is not limited to the political right. According to the poll, 76% of Yisrael Beiteinu voters in the last elections support encouraging voluntary emigration from the Gaza Strip, alongside 61% of voters for the National Unity party. Significant support was also recorded among Yesh Atid voters, with nearly half expressing support for the initiative.

The Sovereignty Movement says the poll, which was presented during the conference, reflects a broader trend of strengthening support for national initiatives in the areas of settlement, security, and sovereignty.

According to the movement, alongside growing public support, there is currently also an exceptional diplomatic opportunity that should be utilized. “The Israeli public wants to see initiative and decisive action, and tonight’s conference is intended to give voice to that sentiment and turn it into a public force that will influence decision-makers to advance the application of sovereignty even before the elections,” the Sovereignty Movement stated.

The survey was conducted and compiled by Direct Polls Ltd., headed by Tzuriel Sharon, on behalf of the Sovereignty Movement, on June 1, 2026, using a digital system combined with a panel, among 489 adult respondents (18+) constituting a representative sample of Israel’s Jewish population. The statistical margin of error is ±4.4% at a 95% confidence level.
