Minister Eliyahu at the Sovereignty Youth Conference: Building on the Youth for Sovereignty as the hope and strength of the State of Israel.
Heritage Minister, Rabbi Amihai Eliyahu, blessed the Sovereignty Youth in whom he sees a source of strength. "You are the hope of the State of Israel and you are the strength of the State of Israel. We are building on you," he said and thanked the leaders of the Sovereignty Movement for their activities.
Minister Eliyahu referred to the visit to Israel by the President of Argentina who spoke about the Ark of the Covenant, the Ten Commandments, and the journey of the Ark. This while the Israeli representatives found it appropriate to talk about soccer. "What happened on Simchat Torah didn't happen because we weren't strong or because we didn't have technology or a good Air Force. We had everything but we didn't have spirit. The State of Israel is like a sailboat whose advantage and disadvantage is the wind. Only if there is spirit will it move forward. If you want sovereignty, you need to roar for it out loud. Whoever wants to win must have spirit, must be tied to the Ark of the Covenant, but there are those in Israel who seek to have us forget and sever our connection to tradition, to our roots, and to Judaism."
