The Knesset is stepping up on the issue of sovereignty: This coming Monday, a special conference will be held at the Knesset on the topic, led by ministers, the Knesset Speaker, Likud MKs, Likud Central Committee members, party activists, council heads from Judea and Samaria, and representatives of the Sovereignty Movement and Israel is Forever.
The conference is initiated by MKs Dan Illouz, Keti Shitrit, Moshe Passal, Ariel Kallner, and Avichai Boaron.
The aim of the conference, which is expected to be held in the Knesset auditorium, is to promote the application of Israeli sovereignty over Judea, Samaria, and the Jordan Valley. Hundreds of participants are expected to attend.
Leading the event will be Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana, Minister Eli Cohen, and MKs Keti Shitrit, Dan Illouz, Moshe Passal, Ariel Kallner, and Avichai Boaron, alongside Sovereignty Movement leaders Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar, attorney Nili Naouri (Chairwoman of Israel is Forever), retired Major General Gershon Hacohen, Omer Rahamim (CEO of the Yesha Council), Yossi Dagan (Head of Samaria Regional Council), Shai Alon (Head of Beit El Council), Eliyahu Libman (former Head of Kiryat Arba Council), Aviva Hazan (Chairwoman of Likud Women), former Israeli Ambassador to Italy Dror Eydar, and others.
The conference will be hosted by journalists Yotam Zimri and Ido Tauber.
The Religious Zionism party is also working to promote the application of sovereignty and is dedicating this coming Monday to the cause. Before the conference begins, MK Tzvi Sukkot will hold a special discussion in the Knesset’s Subcommittee for Judea and Samaria (within the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee), titled: “Implications of a Scenario of Applying Sovereignty in Judea and Samaria.”
Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar, chairwomen of the Sovereignty Movement, stated: “The time for sovereignty has come! We thank the MKs for advancing this important conference and committee. We call on the Israeli government to move from talk to action and to immediately apply Israeli sovereignty to Judea, Samaria, and the Jordan Valley. It’s time to correct the historical injustice, fulfill our right to the heart of our promised land, and ensure the state’s security. The people demand sovereignty, and it is incumbent upon our elected officials to fulfill this Zionist imperative with courage and determination, understanding that this is the key to a safe and prosperous future in the land. The true answer to October 7 and our enemies’ ambitions is to uproot their hope and apply sovereignty immediately.”
The Sovereignty Conference will take place in the Knesset this coming Monday, 25th of Tammuz (21/7), from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM — Media is invited to cover the event.
