CEO of Yesha Council, Omer Rahamim: "Sovereignty can be applied in next week's government meeting. You just need to want it."
At the Youth for Sovereignty Conference, the CEO of Yesha Council, Omer Rahamim, was interviewed and referred to the decision by the Second Authority for Television and Radio to remove the Yesha Council's sovereignty campaign that warns of an October 7th event in the heartland of the country. Rahamim promises that even if it's difficult for Second Authority people to digest the video produced by Yesha Council, it will be distributed everywhere, and to those who claim that children are frightened by it, it should be understood that the children are not frightened by the billboard or the video but by the reality that the campaign warns about.
To the question of the interviewer, Itamar Fleischmann, about significant activity conducted by Yesha Council leadership with American Congress members to promote the application of sovereignty, Rahamim responded and determined that one should remember first and foremost that the one who will decide and determine is not any foreign government but only the Israeli government. "We are not another star on the American flag. We have true friends overseas, but the decisions will be made in Jerusalem and not in Washington."
According to him, what they hear in the American Congress is 'decide,' an American expectation to see Israel do what is good for the security of the entire people of Israel, "and if what is good for Israel's residents is applying sovereignty in Judea and Samaria, then that's what needs to happen now and quickly."
Regarding the chances of the move actually happening, he noted that until recently it seemed that regularizing young communities was far from being realized, but the Israeli government did it by regularizing fifty young communities. This will happen, Rahamim is convinced, regarding the sovereignty issue as well. "Sovereignty can be applied in next week's government meeting." According to him, it would be correct for the Israeli government to respond to the French move promoting a Palestinian state by applying sovereignty.
Rahamim congratulated the economic steps taken by Minister Smotrich against the PA and expressed hope for the collapse of the Authority, which in his view is nothing but a terrorist organization in every respect. "As long as we imagine that it's possible to cooperate with them, this is the conception that might explode on us in Tel Aviv and Kfar Saba."
